Vacheron Constatine watches continue in paying tribute to the greatest explorers of the world, after its Explorer series launch four years back. And for this year, he decided to give honor to Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus.
The watch may look complicated with regards to time reading since its uniquely made dial represents the whole expedition of the two distinguished explorers, but it definitely shows the combination of both the aesthetic and mechanical prowess of the timepiece.
The dial is made of 22k gold with two-part base Polychrome “Grand Feu” enamel, where the upper part shows the historical map of the explorer’s travel while the twelve hour numerals move across the 132° minute scale at the lower part.
Since the timepiece is exclusively handcrafted, a limited edition of only 60 watches for each Explorer is produced. Both watches are made in 18k yellow gold case, measuring about 40 x 12.2mm.
