Clocking in at $600, the Nixon Magnacon is an excellent watch to consider if you are looking for an affordable medium between luxury and street prices while searching for a chronograph.
As an added bonus, thanks to the Magnacon’s case being treated with steel titanium carbide, if you purchase the Nixon watch it will be waterproof against natural elements up until 220 meters.
The unsettling part of the Nixon Magnacon can also be one of its best selling points. It seems after taking the time to construct the clock properly and protect it, that a ballistic nylon strap is somewhat tacky and cheap.
However, it should be noted that the buckle is also sealed with titanium carbide making it rust proof and has a snap closure lock. Given the strap is nylon, if it were ruined, it could be easily replaced without losing the expense of the actual time piece.
The color choice of the Nixon Magnacon could have been designed a little better as well, given that the red, white, and black reminds purchasers very much of a Nike shoe, and a sneaker is not a great connation when you are shelling out half a thousand on a watch.
