In line with the 70th anniversary of their original wrist chronograph model, Longines has put back the Longines Istituto Idrografico R. Marina timepiece.
They kept the original essence of the watch that is produced for the officers of the Italian Navy in 1938, but added a touch of modernism in terms of the technical facet.
The watch measures 44mm in diameter, featuring a stainless steel case in a genuine deep tan alligator strap. It has a black polished dial with the name of the Italian hydrographic institute to give highlight to its intended commemoration. The indexes are coated in superluminova luminescent, as well as the dark blue hands for an easy time reading.
The case back is stamped with the prominent “Istituto Idrografico della Regia Marina,” as for which it was originally made.
