It’s funny how watchmaker DelaCour made a bigger dial to accommodate a smaller dial that contains the actual time indicator. For sure, this is part of the design which is means to showcase lots and lots of diamonds.
The DeLaCour Liberata Watch is actually a watch within a watch. Creating the watch actually seems to be just an excuse to showcase luxury in the form of a watch that floats in the watch case. The smaller case inside the bigger watch relies on gravity for its existence and simply moves and spins all over.
Thus you get a watch face that can be found at any direction within the main watch. In short you should not see this as a traditional watch where the 12 o’clock is permanently placed just above the watch. With the DeLaCour Liberata Watch, your 12 o’clock can face and be found anywhere around the clock.
The watch comes in a variety of colors including black, red, yellow and white among others. It has a polished or a PVD steel case with a selling price of between $12,000 and $25,000 depending on the design chosen. With 6K of diamonds all over this watch is sure well worth it.
For sure, DeLaCour is not in the business to compete with other watchmakers that provide time-telling gadgets in the same design and manner. It is here to make a difference. But will the market bite that?
It remains to be seen.
