Blu Quartett

Get yourself a timepiece that’s simple enough aesthetics-wise but is complicated when it comes to function. The Blu Quartett watch has a rhodium-plated watch face that’s so simple you won’t even know where the time markers are. It is actually Blu’s modern and innovative interpretation which is light years away from the traditional watches.

The hour is actually indicated by a sub-dial at 12 o’clock with the Roman numerals and 3 and 9 o’clock. Just estimate the next hours in between and after these numerals. The seconds is indicated by another sub-counter just below the hour counter which smartly taps the seconds while making its way around the dial.

This watch is so complicated to operate that you need to carefully study its technical works before you can even attempt to tell the time. Need we say it should be bought only by those who have the luxury of time to carefully study and confidently tell the time?

True enough the Blu Quartett watch has indicators for hours, retrograde minutes, date and seconds but bless you if you can identify them at a glance and without looking at the manual of this timepiece. It has a BL704 movement that automatically winds in both directions. It has a 42-hour power reserve and has 21 jewels.

You get a lot of choices with the Blu Quartett since the case alone is available in white gold, stainless steel and red gold while the dial is available in ruthenium guilloche and silvered guilloche. It has an alligator leather strap with deployment buckle.

  1. Henk says:

If you just look at the lenght of the dials, you can tell that the minute dial is in the bottom,
If you look further you will see that if it hits 60, it will pop back to 0.. But the watch also has a date function. The watch can be wound forward and backwards for travelling between time zones. am i wrong or is this the first watch that has a 0-60 minute dial that jumps, that can be wound backwards?
