We have seen a lot of moonphase watches but this timepiece is one of those that got us drooling. The Arnold and Son True Moon watch is attractive by itself, even sans the thought of how functional it is. It looks great and we can bet on it given its face value alone.
The Arnold and Son True Moon watch pays tribute to the fascinating and mysterious aspects of this planetary satellite that influence not only the tides but also man’s moods and madness! While a lot of watches carry the moon phase feature on their faces, not all of them provide accurate information. The preciseness of the information on its face is however one of the strengths of this brand.
The watch comes in a rose gold case that measures 46 mm in diameter. Elegantly supporting the case is a black large scale crocodile strap. The watch is powered by a true moon automatic calibre A1788 with a 42 hour power reserve.
The Arnold and Son True Moon watch comes with a deep blue dial that looks pretty much like the constellation. The face is filled with 19 diamond stars to depict the small and big Dipper as well as Cassiopeia.
You will see a date display at 3 o’clock, but the real attraction to this watch is the moonphase aperture at 6 o’clock. There’s actually more moon on the face, thanks to the engraved earth image on a relief faceplate which is found at 12 o’clock.
The Arnold and Son True Moon watch is a bit pricey at $37,800 USD but a beautiful and functional watch like this makes it all worth while.
